King Hu

King Hu was a Taiwanese/Hong Kong based filmmaker, revered for his influence on Wuxia filmmaking. King Hu started his career in Hong Kong as an actor in Shaw Brothers films, and eventually moved to directing films for the studio. His third film, Come Drink With Me, was a hit with East Asian audiences and has left a long lasting impact on Wuxia filmmaking, and was different from many Shaw Brothers films at the time. Despite the popularity of Come Drink With Me, the studio wanted something different from King Hu. King Hu left Shaw Brothers studio and moved to Taiwan to work on his next films.
