At Sundari's request, the women begin a tour of different temples, where they come across a couple of foreigners. Nivi is surprised to find Vikram at a local market, and he invites the three of them to go camping with her friends. Kaveri visits a gharana with Vikram. Sundari finally finds out the address he is looking for.

The trio spend the night at a disreputable motel. Kaveri makes friends with someone unexpected. Rajaratnam suddenly falls ill and jeopardizes the trip.

Overwhelmed by her son's attentions, 70-year-old Sundari plans to escape to an unknown destination with her granddaughter, Niveditha, and daughter-in-law, Kaveri. Niveditha, a 24-year-old cricketer, wants to put some distance between herself and her boyfriend after they agree to take some time off. And Kaveri, who is “just a mother”, has had enough of serving her family without being appreciated.
