Ann Maurice clashes with Sheila, a textile designer from North Shields, Tyneside, who is reluctant to tone down the eccentric interior of her large four-bedroom Regency house. The property expert insists, however, and Sheila can only look on in dismay as vivid colours make way for inoffensive neutral shades, stencilled drawings are removed and carpets receive an industrial-strength cleaning.

Ann Maurice advises a basement flat owner who is unable to find a buyer for her home in Stoke Newington, north London. Sweeping out the mishmash of styles and loud colours, she introduces a calmer range of warm neutral shades, unifying the interior by laying laminate flooring and creating a separate dining area.
